Peec AI Alternatives: 5 AI Visibility Tools Compared
Peec AI alternatives compared on engines, sampling, prompt quotas, API and MCP access, and prices checked on each vendor's site on September 26, 2026.
On this page
The main Peec AI alternatives are AthenaHQ, Citlyze, Otterly.AI, Profound and Scrunch. They differ most on four things: which AI engines they cover at your price, how they sample answers, how many prompts you get, and whether your data leaves through an API or MCP. Compare those before you compare dashboards.
Citlyze publishes this article and is one of the tools compared. We built the comparison from each vendor's public pricing page and documentation on September 26, 2026, and we did not run paid trials of every tool for it. Where a competitor does something better than Citlyze, the article says so.
Compare these four things before dashboard polish
Compare engine coverage at your plan, sampling method, prompt quota and data access. These decide what your numbers mean; the interface only decides how pleasant they are to read.
- Engine coverage at your price. Several tools in this comparison list a long engine menu and charge per extra engine. Check which engines your plan includes, and whether Google AI Mode and AI Overviews are among them.
- Sampling method. Ask how often each prompt runs, how many times per run, in which country, and whether the tool queries the consumer app or the engine's API. The two can return different answers, and single runs vary a lot, as why AI answers change explains.
- Prompt quotas. Convert every plan into answers per month (prompts times engines times runs), since vendors count in prompts, credits or "AI answers".
- API and MCP access. If you plan to pull the data into a warehouse, a client report or an AI assistant, check the tier where API and MCP access start.
The buyer's guide to AI visibility tools goes deeper on each criterion.
Price and coverage side by side
Otterly.AI and Citlyze cost least to start, Otterly and Peec AI give the most answers per dollar, and AthenaHQ covers the most engines on one tier. Profound publishes no self-serve price for brands.
| Tool | Entry price, monthly | Prompts at entry | Engines at entry | Answers per month at entry (our arithmetic) | API and MCP |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Peec AI | $95 (Starter) | 50 | Choose 3 of ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Copilot, Gemini, Naver AI; more models from $30/mo | 4,500 (Peec's own figure) | MCP on all paid plans; API on Enterprise |
| AthenaHQ | Free (Essential, 300 credits); $295 (Starter) | Credits: 3,600 on Starter, 1 credit = 1 AI response | 11 models on Starter, incl. Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI, Mistral | 3,600 on Starter | API as a paid add-on on Starter; included on Enterprise |
| Citlyze | $29 (Starter) | 5 daily prompts | ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek, ByteDance daily; Google AI Overviews, AI Mode and Bing Copilot weekly | About 750 daily answers plus weekly Google and Copilot checks | From Growth ($99, 20 daily prompts) |
| Otterly.AI | $29 (Lite) | 15 | ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity, Copilot; AI Mode, Gemini, Claude as add-ons | About 1,800 if each prompt runs daily on each engine | From Standard ($189, 100 prompts) |
| Profound | Custom (Enterprise) | 50 on the free trial | Trial: ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews; Enterprise: up to 9 engines | 1,050 over the 7-day trial | API on Enterprise |
| Scrunch | $250 (Core) | 125 | ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, Copilot; 9 on Enterprise | Not stated: the pricing page gives no run frequency | Query API and MCP on Enterprise |
Prices are monthly list prices for brand plans, read on each vendor's pricing page on September 26, 2026. Every tool offers a trial or a free tier: Peec and Otterly a free trial, AthenaHQ a free tier, Profound and Scrunch seven days, Citlyze 14 days without a card. Peec and Otterly discount annual billing by 15%, AthenaHQ by 17% and Citlyze by up to 20%. The answers column is our arithmetic from the published quotas, except where a vendor states the number itself, and it assumes each prompt runs once a day on each engine. Otterly's page says "daily tracking frequency" without stating the product of prompts and engines, so its figure carries that assumption.
Which alternative fits which team
Each tool below is strongest for a different buyer. Peec comes first as the reference point; the alternatives follow in alphabetical order.
Peec AI
Peec's Starter plan gives 50 prompts on three models of your choice, tracked daily, with unlimited users, and Peec calculates that as 4,500 AI answers a month. Its MCP server connects your data to Claude, Cursor and other clients on all paid plans.
- Best for: teams that want a lot of prompts per dollar, unlimited seats, and AI assistant access to their data from the first paid tier. Naver AI coverage suits teams working in Korea.
- Not ideal for: budgets under $95 a month, or teams that need Perplexity, Claude or DeepSeek without paying per extra model. Direct API access sits on Enterprise.
AthenaHQ
AthenaHQ sells credits, where one credit equals one AI response, and its $295 Starter plan includes 3,600 of them across 11 models. It also has a free Essential tier with 300 credits on five engines, and content optimization agents on paid plans.
- Best for: teams that need the widest engine list on a single tier, including Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral, plus content actions in the same tool.
- Not ideal for: small budgets, and teams that want API access without an add-on on the entry paid plan.
Citlyze
Citlyze starts at $29 a month for 5 daily prompts, tracked every day on ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek and ByteDance, with Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Bing Copilot checked weekly on every plan. API and MCP access start on Growth at $99 with 20 daily prompts. Pro at $249 adds Grok and 40 daily prompts.
- Best for: small teams and agencies that need Google's AI surfaces plus the main chat engines on a low budget, with API and MCP access below $100 a month. Brand FactCheck, ads in AI answers and AI shopping tracking come on the higher plans.
- Not ideal for: teams that need many prompts on a small budget (Peec and Otterly give more answers per dollar at entry), Claude or Naver coverage, or unlimited seats.
Otterly.AI
Otterly's Lite plan costs $29 a month for 15 prompts across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot, tracked daily, with unlimited team members and 1,000 GEO audits a month. Its Standard plan adds API and MCP access with 2,000 requests a month each, and a Looker Studio connector.
- Best for: teams that want the lowest entry price with Perplexity and AI Overviews included, and agencies that run many URL audits.
- Not ideal for: teams that need Google AI Mode, Gemini or Claude without add-ons (Otterly prices them per plan), or API access below $189 a month.
Profound
Profound now lists two options for brands: a free trial of 50 prompts run daily for seven days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, and a custom Enterprise plan tracking up to nine answer engines. Enterprise includes API access, ChatGPT Shopping data, agent analytics and an "AI Marketer" that runs on credits.
- Best for: larger brands that want an enterprise contract, broad engine coverage, shopping data and agent workflows in one platform.
- Not ideal for: teams that need a published price or a self-serve plan. The seven-day trial is short for judging answer variance. The Profound review covers it in more depth.
Scrunch
Scrunch's Core plan costs $250 a month for 125 prompts across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot, with five site audits a month and AI bot traffic. Enterprise adds Claude, Gemini, Meta AI, Google AI Mode and Grok, plus its Agent Experience Platform (AXP) for serving pages to AI agents.
- Best for: teams that care about how AI agents consume their site as much as about answer tracking.
- Not ideal for: teams that need Gemini or AI Mode at the entry price, or API and MCP access without an enterprise contract.
Where Citlyze fits, and where it does not
Citlyze fits teams that need daily tracking on the main chat engines plus weekly Google AI Overviews and AI Mode at a small-team price, with API and MCP from $99. It fits less well when prompt volume, seats or Claude coverage decide the purchase.
Our sampling method, stated the way we ask other vendors to state theirs: the daily engines run once per prompt per day through each engine's API with web search enabled; Google AI Overviews, AI Mode and Bing Copilot come from a weekly check of the live results page; consumer ChatGPT is captured only for shopping carousels and ads, through a paid add-on. If your buyers use the consumer ChatGPT app with memory on, an API answer is an approximation of what they see, and the same is true of any tool that uses the API. Most vendors in the table do not document which method they use on their public pages; ask before you buy.
Where the competitors are stronger:
- Prompts per dollar: Peec's $95 plan gives 50 prompts on three models; Citlyze's $99 plan gives 20 prompts on five daily engines.
- Seats: Peec, Otterly and AthenaHQ include unlimited users; Citlyze includes one, three or five by plan.
- Engine breadth: AthenaHQ covers Claude, Meta AI and Mistral on its entry paid plan; Citlyze does not track Claude.
- Enterprise depth: Profound and Scrunch offer SSO, agent tooling and dedicated teams that Citlyze reserves for custom contracts.
Where Citlyze is stronger for its price: Google AI Overviews, AI Mode and Copilot on every plan, API and MCP from $99, and checks such as brand fact accuracy and sponsored placements next to organic answers. The side-by-side Citlyze vs Peec AI comparison lists the features row by row.
Testing two tools before you commit
Run the same prompts through both tools for two weeks and compare the stability of the numbers rather than the look of the charts.
- Pick 20 prompts from your real buyer questions, including five branded ones and five where you know a competitor wins.
- Load the identical prompt text, country and language into both tools on the same day.
- After 14 days, export the raw answers from each tool as well as the scores. A tool that will not export answers is asking you to trust its summary.
- For five prompts, compare the answers each tool recorded with what you see in the engine yourself on the same day.
- Compute your mention rate per prompt in each tool and look at the day-to-day spread. Large swings on a single daily run are normal; a tool that shows none may be smoothing more than it tells you.
- Pull the same numbers through each tool's API or MCP, if you need either, and time how long the integration takes.
- Price the plan you would need after the trial, with the engines and seats you would add.
Keep your citation rate definitions fixed across both tools, or the comparison measures two different things.
Trial the two whose engines match where your buyers ask
Pick them at the price of the plan you would need after the trial. On the list prices above, Otterly.AI Lite and Citlyze Starter are the cheapest entries at $29 a month, and AthenaHQ offers a free tier with 300 credits. For most small teams the right pair is one prompt-heavy tool and one with Google's AI surfaces included. If Citlyze is one of your two, the 14-day trial needs no card and runs your prompts from day one.
